Day 7-9: The granddaughter

 The focus changed from adult activities to child activities, which centers around my grandchild Guinevere.  Dinner is early, the day starts early, etc.

  On Saturday, the day starts at 7am with Guinnie getting up.  She eats, spends playtime with grandpa and then off to ballet in tutu and shoes:



We come home and rest for a while then off to Harper's birthday party:



Next was dinner with friends - sorry no pictures.

Sunday began early with 8:15 am mass and then breakfast with more friends.  I wish we had time to see others.

Next was nap time for me and Guinnie, then onward to get pictures of Guinnie with some bluebonnets and other wildflowers:



Then off to play:



Last but not least the flying hippo



Next off to Big Bend National Park via McDonald Observatory.

2018 thus far I was expecting this year to be a whole lot better for me than what has happened.   The reason is because of the odd decade phenomenon, that I have noticed over the years.   In my 30 th decade of life I divorced from my first marriage – not a good thing.   In my 50 th decade of life I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.   So, this being an even decade I was not expecting any big life changing negative events. But … In February my neurologist did not raise my medication for my PD symptoms.   I was expecting to get an increase in my medication since my off-time was starting to increase and I was having trouble sleeping through the night.   For those of you who do not know what off-time means it is when my medication wears off between medication dosages and my PD symptoms begin to show.   When this has happened in the past the neurologist always raised the dosage. Day 13 - The River Road Trip, Take 1

This day began with me getting up in the morning 5:30am for sunrise pictures in Big Bend.  I went to Sotol Vista.  It looked like an interesting sunrise position, but the sun did not do much.  Below are a few pictures from there: Next on our agenda was to drive the river road in Big Bend Ranch State Park.  This is a drive on TX 170 from Lajitas to Presidio.  A couple of people, we have met on the way, highly recommended it. It runs along the Rio Grande through the mountains.  You may or may not know, Max is a bit spoiled.  When he goes for a car ride, he has to have the window open so he can stick his head out the window.  He does this even at 60 mph. When I get back from sunrise pictures, Vicki and I eat breakfast and prepare for the drive.  The plan was to go to Presidio, eat, grocery shop and return.  Of course we would stop on the way and I would take some pictures.  We take off around 11:30pm and get to the outskirts of Lajitas when Vicki gets a phone call which comes

The National Park tour. Day: -1

As many of you know Vicki and I have been planning a trip out west to visit some National Parks and visit friends and family on the way. We will be doing that starting tomorrow (April 1, 2017). We have spent the last few months getting ready for this trip, including buying a travel trailer. The current plan is to visit the following national parks: Big Bend National Park Grand Canyon National Park Arches National Park Canyon Lands National Park Bryce Canyon National Park Zion National Park Yellowstone National Park Grand Tetons National Park We have reservations at travel trailer parks from Apex all the way through the Grand Tetons. If I count right 22 different parks. We still do not know the plans for on the way back. We are both very nervous about the trip as we have never done travel trailers to this extent.
