Day 15-16: El Paso

We get up  on the 15th, the sky is blue with no rain in site.  We pack-up and head off to El Paso.  The trip there is pretty uneventful.    El Paso originally was a stop on the way to Tuscon to see my cousin Tom.  Since is was the day before Easter Vicki said we would stop for two nights so we weren't traveling on Easter.

Saturday was about getting a few needed items like dog food for Max and Vicki had forgot her password on her new tablet so she took it to the Apple store for them to reload the default software on it.  We had dinner at a sports bar called Twin Peaks.  The food was good.

Sunday consisted of going to Easter mass.  The original thought was to go to the cathedral in downtown El Paso.  However, both Vicki and I woke up around 6am.  So we decided to do a sunrise mass (7am) at Saint Stephen Deacon & Martyr Catholic Church.  We were a couple of minutes late getting to church.  Vicki was expecting us to have to stand for the whole mass and I was expecting to be able to choose whatever seat we wanted.  It was somewhere in between.

These are saints who had significant on El Paso.

When we finished, we ended up talking to a gentleman named Armando who was the grand night associated with the church.  After talking for a while I asked him of some places to eat breakfast.  He suggested a couple of them.  I chose The Crave, which turned out to be quite a ways away from where we were.  It took us 20 minutes to get there.  We go in the restaurant they said it would be 30 minutes before they were ready.  It turns out there was a power outage there.  While waiting we found a Walgreens but it was closed due to the power outage.  CVS was opened though.

The breakfast at the crave was not real exciting; definitely not worth the extra hour or so it took to get there.

The next stop after resting at the RV was Cattleman's Steakhouse at Indian Cliffs Ranch.  This came highly recommender by Vicki's cousin Marybeth and her husband Tony.  It is located in Faben, Texas out in the middle of nowhere.

The steak was really good.  To go along with the steakhouse it is also a ranch, which includes some animals.

They have a lake, play area, cattle, longhorn steer, buffalo, and have been the site of several movies.

When one of these walk there whole body goes back and forth because of the weight of the horns.
