Day 21: More Visiting

This day was a day of visiting with family and continued work on UTT.

Chompie's has been a favorite of ours for years for breakfast.  Sometimes we eat there a couple times a visit.  I had my favorite whole grain pancakes with eggs and bacon.

I spent a lot of time looking at how to improve the connection to the internet when at RV parks.  Literally just about every RV park had limited internet connection, which makes it hard to do a few things, like backing up my laptop and Vicki working and us watching our DirectTV recorded shows.  So it comes down to a couple of solutions.

The first would be to try and get a USB wifi reception enhancer, which would require us to have one for each computer.  If we wanted to add our printer then we would need to get another one plus this seems to be rather dangerous putting the printer on the open network.

The second solution I found, and prefer, is to create a local network for the travel trailer and use a router that takes wifi as the internet input instead of some kind of wire.  This is also known as 'WIFI as WAN' router.  This would also mean getting something to enhance the signal from the RV park and then use the router to create my own local area network.

I decided to give the second solution a try.  I found a refurbished Netgear WN2000RPT Universal WiFi Range Extender for $25.  This will enhance the signal from the rv park and then create the local area network (WIFI).  I hope to give this a try on Sunday.

Today we had a chance to visit with Elma and her 2 1/2 year old son Aden.  They are Mirveta's niece and great nephew.

We met them at the Village Tavern.

I was really amazed that Aden ate salmon.

We haven't seen Elma since before Aden was born. It was fun getting to see them both. Aden enjoyed looking at our safari pictures and naming all the animals.
