Day 18: Frederick's of Tuscon

No this is not 'The World's Sexiest Lingerie' but my cousin Tom and lovely wife Lani.  We stopped here to visit them.  They have a couple cute Pomeranians.

No this not a Pomeranian but is Max the Terrier mutt, He is recovering nicely from his earlier injuries,

We took a tour of the house.

After visiting for a while I pulled out the African Safari pictures.  They did not seem to be too board :)

Then Lani started cooking a great dinner. We enjoyed catching up with Tom and Lani.

2018 thus far I was expecting this year to be a whole lot better for me than what has happened.   The reason is because of the odd decade phenomenon, that I have noticed over the years.   In my 30 th decade of life I divorced from my first marriage – not a good thing.   In my 50 th decade of life I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.   So, this being an even decade I was not expecting any big life changing negative events. Day 13 - The River Road Trip, Take 1

This day began with me getting up in the morning 5:30am for sunrise pictures in Big Bend.  I went to Sotol Vista.  It looked like an interesting sunrise position, but the sun did not do much.  Below are a few pictures from there: Next on our agenda was to drive the river road in Big Bend Ranch State Park.  This is a drive on TX 170 from Lajitas to Presidio.  A couple of people, we have met on the way, highly recommended it. It runs along the Rio Grande through the mountains.  You may or may not know, Max is a bit spoiled.  When he goes for a car ride, he has to have the window open so he can stick his head out the window.  He does this even at 60 mph. When I get back from sunrise pictures, Vicki and I eat breakfast and prepare for the drive.  The plan was to go to Presidio, eat, grocery shop and return.  Of course we would stop on the way and I would take some pictures.  We take off around 11:30pm and get to t...

Day 26: Off to the Grand Canyon

We take-off from Scottsdale went pretty smoothly.  We only forgot a few things. We get to the GCNP in early afternoon and try to check-in.  Of course, they don't have our room ready and we go out to lunch: The Arizona Vicki at the Arizona  The waiter, whose name was Erik and has spent 20+ years in GCNP was very helpful as to where take pictures.  Most of what he told me I had read, but he helped me decide where I wanted to go.  We eventually get into our room.  It is described as a standard room with a partial view: Room View Not a bad partial view. I spend some time trying to figure out where to go for sunset pictures.  I finally decide on Hopi Point and it is relatively close.  In all my readings they suggest getting there 1-1/2 hours early, which would mean around 5:45pm.  To make sure you get a spot and the lighting is a good.  I think I got there around 5pm.  I happen to own two cameras, so after a while ...
