Day 35: Canyonlands and the beginning of the 2 days that Arches does not close!!!

Today Vicki and I will visit Canyonlands National Park and I plan on visiting Delicate Arch at sunset, which is in Arches.  Today starts the two days of the park not closing so I can do sunrise and sunset.

I leave for Delicate Arch a little early to catch some other pictures.  The plan is to arrive about 1 hour before sunset in order to beat the crowd.

After thinking about it some, I don't feel like jogging around the rv park a lot to stay in shape, so I decided to hike with full camera gear at least three times a week.  The hike has to be hard/strenuous.  Delicate Arch is just one such hike.  It is described as Hard in the All My Trails app. It is 3 miles out and back, and has 610 feet of elevation change.  To add to the fun it was 98 degrees.

This is the view on the way up, not very far along

The view when just about there.  Can you believe that young kids do this hike?

When I arrive around 200 people are already there.  I am around 45 minutes before sunset.  I just beat the crowd😀.  What is amazing is that people continually came, even after sunset.

The spot I chose.  Don't worry I straighten the arch out later😀.

Should be able to see sunset on delicate arch

Tried my hand at some star pictures on the way home.
