Day 55: Bye Bye to Utah

Thursday, May 25, 2017   Today we packed up and left for Pocatello, ID, which is a good chunk of the way to West Yellowstone, Montana.  The idea is to stay there a couple of nights and then go on to West Yellowstone, where we will meet David McManus and his wife Susan. After having lunch we had an accident where the trailer started fishtailing and we finally lost control.  The travel trailer pushed us off the road where the SUV rolled one to two times, but ended on all 4 wheels.  UTT was on its side.  I remember asking Vicki if she was OK and she said yes.  Max seemed to be OK.  I on the other hand was having trouble breathing.  Vicki got me unbuckled and I was able to breath.  The seatbelt was really tight.  Two vehicles stopped to help us.  One called 911 to get help.   I am not sure who helped me, but I was helped out of the car and to the curb.  I sat down on the side of the road.  The only thing that hurt was my chest.  One lady talked with me.  I think she was trying to keep

Thursday May 11, 2017 I show up at Sunset Point for sunrise at 5:15am and I am the only one there.  Eventually, other people show up including from the workshop. Pre-sunrise Surnise getting close While shooting I remember the moon will be setting!!!! Moon setting not too bright - finally after Moon rise fiasco from last night. first time I noticed glow, which is what you try to capture at sunrise/sunset Vicki & I visit what I call the other points:  the points not focused on the amphitheater.  We drive to the end to Rainbow Point, which is 18 miles from front gate. For those of you who are worried about Max.  He is doing good.  HIs limp is gone and he seems to be back to normal.  The big problem we have is when we travel, he gets excited and cannot calm down so he pants the whole time we driving.  We decided it might be easier if he goes to the kennel for the day, starting tom

Wednesday May 10, 2017 Today we leave Moab and head to Bryce.  It is raining.  I think this is the first time we did this.  At least it was not a hard rain.  I did go out and take some pictures. We are going to be at  Bryce for 4 days. It rains all the way to Bryce.  We set up camp in the rain. Within a 1/2 hour of completing the setup, the sun comes out. Lesson learned - wait to see if the rain stops. I head over to Sunset Point in Bryce National Park.  Once there I realize that I won't see the sunset at Sunset Point.  There is a group of people there that are part of a workshop.  They are all using camera filters. While taking pictures, a fog rolls on.  At first it is cool then it overtakes the amphitheater about 10 minutes before sunset. I figure out that Inspiration Point is higher and go there. Someone asks me where the full moon is coming up and I point to the east, but decide
