Day 48: Moving Day
Thursday, May 18, 2017
Today we made the move from Springdale, Utah to Hurricane, Utah. We tried several times to extend our stay in Springdale but to no avail. BTW, the reservation system that Zion Canyon Campground uses is really poor. If you call the campground they let you know that they can't change reservations, it has to go through 'Reservations'. The first time we tried to extend it, it was for an extra week. We got an email the basically said, nothing is available, in about that many words. We gave up for a while then tried again. This time my wife said we wanted to extend it by as many days as we could up to a week. So the lady sent a message basically asking if they could extend it by a day. If we were lucky enough and got the first day then she would try another day. We basically got another message saying nothing was available.
We move UTT to WillowWind RV Park in Hurricane, Utah. Now there is nothing really bad about the park, but it definitely different than Zion Canyon Campground. Every site has well manicured grassed, watered every night and shade trees - prim and proper. There is no real view nature view. It is in the middle of a small city.
On the other hand, Zion Canyon Campground is more ad hoc, with the Virgin river running through it, and of course a view.
An other difference is location. WillowWind RV Park is about 45 minutes from Zion.
Yet another difference is Hurricane is much bigger town. It has a couple of groceries and pharmacies, which increases the chance that Vicki will find some Diet Canada Dry. She has been suffering from withdrawal symptoms. We have not found any since leaving Phoenix, over two weeks ago.
We find no DCD in Hurricane.😖
