This morning Vicki and I decide to hike the Queen's Garden Trail. We will be attempting to get some kind of hoodoo award by doing a selfie in front of the "Hoodoo" kiosk along the trail. If you can do 3 of them you get the prize. Yesterday I got took a selfie on for the Navajo trail.

I go to Sunset Point for sunset. I hike down Navajo trail a little bit. I run into Randell Hodges hiking up the trail. I ask him where his new group is and he says somewhere back there. I see a few of them.

I guess the horse needed a rest. |
I finally figured what to look for. The Hoodoos glow at certain times. I think the glows come from reflective sunlight, which start happening as the sun is setting. I showed it to a fellow photographer. He walked over for a few minutes came back and asked is that it? He was not impressed. I pointed out that we will be able to see the sun rise in the morning. He seemed happy.
I am starting to get how to take canyon pictures. You don't photograph the actual sun setting or rising. You photograph what the rising/setting sun hitting in the canyon. For sunset, it is actually behind me.
