Day 70: Landscapes
Friday, June 9, 2017
The first full day at Grand Tetons started with me getting up early and heading out to Schwabacher's Landing. I was expecting more picture opportunities for such a famous place. When I arrived there is only one parking spot available.
I was all excited that a full moon was setting. When I get there there is no view of the full moon in the scene, so I ad-lib. If I would have had the fore though to get the foreground trees in focus.
I stop at Oxbow Bend view for reflective landscape pictures
Then off to Mt Moran Outlook for some cool wildflower pictures. The hard part was timing the sun shining between the clouds.
I have been looking for quite a while for a landscape with a cool foreground.
I go back to the cabin and pick up Vicki. We head out and within a couple miles of where we are staying there is a bear sighting. This is a mother grizzly and cubs. It is kind of funny. The mother and cubs spend most of there time eating so there head is down. When her or the cub head comes up all the photographers take pictures so you hear 100s of clicks go off in a few seconds.
The bears finally went up the hill and out of site. We drove up String Mountain.

We then drove off to Schwabacher's Landing.
There was nothing to shoot because of the it was too windy (no reflection). Vicki spotted this squirrel was so scared. It was trying to hide on the tree branch. I don't think it could get any closer to the tree. He was making a lot of noise.
Also on the way out we see a couple posing for pictures. It was there engagement pictures. As I walked passed them I yelled Photo bomb.
We stop at Oxbow Bend on the way back. I tried one picture in B&W
We passed a bear jam a few miles from the cabin.
