Monday, May 22, 2017 Today is our last day in Zion.  This morning I am up for sunrise at Pine Creek Switchback.  I had heard about better reflections down stream.  So I do that.  I use my new tripod to get the camera a couple inches above the water.  I am still disappointed that the reflection was not complete. This looking toward the sunrise. After taking pictures here I decide to go for a hike.  I walk up Watchman's trail and get a nice view of the visitor's center. After I got back from my morning photography and hike, Vicki headed off to the big city of St. George. We needed some supplies and Max needed dog food. When Vicki got back we went to pick up Max at the kennel. The kennel is a ranch with tons of space for Max to run around. I'm sure he enjoyed that. Sunday, May 21, 2017 Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument (GSENM) I wanted to hike the Wave in the GSENM. You can only hike the Wave if you have a permit. By the time we finalized our plans, the on-line permits were all ready taken.  They are picked four months in advance.  They give out 10 more permits for the next day at the GSENM visitor center in Kanab, Utah. If I am unlucky enough to win😀 I would go tomorrow.  This would mean Vicki would have to get up and take me to the hiking trail early in the morning and come back in the afternoon.  Since there would be no cell connection, we would have to set a pick up time.  This could be a logistic nightmare.   Another thought that came to mind while I was waiting this morning would be to hire someone to guide me.  This person could give me a ride maybe.
